Buchs is a common Switzerland Canton of Saint-Gall, located in the District of Werdenberg.
Geography
The town of Buchs is located in the valley of the Rhine. The point low is on the level of the river, with 441 meters of altitude. The culminating point is at the top of Glannachopf, with 2232 meters of altitude.
History
The first mention of the place appears in a will of the bishop of Coire, at the 8th century, under the name of Pogio. The name of Buchs is attested in 1213.
