Espinal

Espinal is a village located at the north of the Spain, in the commune of Erro, of the autonomous Communauté of Navarre.

Aurizberri out of Basque.

Population: 263 inhabitants in 2000.

History

The borough was founded in 1269 by Teobaldo II (Thibaud II of Navarre) “so that the piles roumieux have between the two villages of Roncevaux and Viscarret, another where to collect itself, and which is as a sentinel against the attacks which often remain in these deserted places. ”
