Eskender

Eskander ( Alexandre ), Négus of Ethiopia of 1478 with 1494 under the name of Qwastantinos II (Constantin II).

He succeeds his father Baeda Maryam Ier at the seven years age. Its armies devastate Dakar, capital of the Adal but its forwardings against the Moslems turn to the disaster.

Towards 1480, it sends an embassy near the sultan of the Cairo. It obtains all that it wishes, of which the nomination of new a métropolite.

In 1494, Eskender is overcome and killed by an archer during a forwarding against the Moslems in the Plain of Salt. Ethiopia loses its military supremacy. His/her son Amda Seyon II reigns only six months, then is replaced by Naod, brother of Eskender.
