The escudo course-verdien is the official currency Cape Verde since 1975. Its ISO code is CVE . This currency can be changed only on the spot for the species.

The escudo is fastened with parity fixes since July 5th, 1998 at the currency of the Portugal (the Portuguese Escudo until 1999, the euro since this date), with the Foreign exchange rate of 110,262 escudos for one euro, that is to say very small little less than one centime of euro for an escudo.

The smallest part in force is of 10 escudos, largest is worth 200 escudos. There exist two models in circulation of the part of 100 escudos: the decaedric part and the round part, called pope . The one-way tickets from 200 to 5000 escudos.
