Escrennes

History
Ground belonging to the 11th century with the monks of the abbey of Saint-Beno4it cheese. At the 15th century, it échut with Henri Ier, Duke of Enghien and Prince de Conti. Escrennes became then property of the family of the Ponds (of 1632 to 1786), of François de Toustain (1786-1791) then of a Parisian notary, Gaspard Monnet, which acquired it in 1791 under national good. A castle was built in 1650 in the middle of the borough then increased by Gaspard Monnet in 1791. Forsaken at the end of the 19th century, it was demolished in 1905 (only the orangery remains to date). Of 1926 with 1942, Escrennes, like all the communes of the Canton of Pithiviers, dependant since 1800 (year VIII) on the District of Pithiviers, was attached to the Arrondissement of Orleans, during the temporary removal of the district. The reform of 1942 reconstituted this district within the limits and the cutting which were them his until 1926.
