Esclavon

Esclavon is the name of the inhabitants of the Esclavonie (current Slavonie).

During the Roman empire and until the end of the Middle Ages, Esclavonie was a tank of Esclave S. the Romans called them the Sclavini but it is at the beginning only one name of origin, the slave in Latin was called then servus . In Low-Latin the word becomes Slavonici and sclavi or slavi

The word Esclavon then becomes practically Synonyme with slave although one distinguishes them the Serf S from Esclavons. The word Esclavons was used in Moslem Spain to translate its Arab equivalent Saqâliba designating at the same time the slaves and the Slave S.
