Escarène is a common French, located in the department of the the Alpes-Maritimes and the area Provence-Alp-Coast of Azure. Sometimes spelled Escarène and sometimes called Escarène , its inhabitants are the Escarénois .

In language Occitan E Niçois E (Georges Castellana), the local form Escarea knows also the alternative Escarena employed in Nice. The inhabitants are read Escare (N) ascs (standard traditional) or read Escare (N) asc (standard mistralienne). Scarena is the Italian name commune, official between 1814 and 1860.
