The escaline is a Drogue Hallucinogène Psychédélique in the class of the Phényléthylamine S, so considered as Enthéogène.

It is synthesized and described for the first time by Benington in 1954, then it will again be studied thereafter with the laboratory of David E. Nichols who worked on the analogues of the Mescaline of which the escaline, the proscaline and the isoproscaline.

But it is Alexander Shulgin which of will describe for first time effects at man in his book PIHKAL (Phényléthylamines that I knew and liked), it describes one duration of the effects going from eight to twelve hours and a proportioning from 40 to 60 Mg in oral catch.
