Esa Keskinen

Esa Keskinen (born the February 3rd 1965 with Ylöjärvi, in Finland) is a former professional player of Hockey which evolved/moved at the station of center. Chosen 101e on the whole of the Fishing out of entry in the LNH 1985 by the Flames of Calgary, Keskinen was a very popular figure of Finnish hockey.

Very talented, Keskinen began in 1981 with the FPS Forssa, with which it played two seasons in the second Finnish division before joining TPS Turku of the Sm-liiga where it forged a reputation by gaining the championship of the markers of 1987-88 and being named the most useful player of the league the following season.

After three seasons a highly productive stay with the Lukko Rauma, Keskinen turned over in 1991 to the TPS, which gained in 1993 the championship of Finland then six months later the Coupe of Europe. Keskinen also gained two new titles of better marker in 1992-93 and 1993-94, was named better player of the league for the season 1993-94 and appeared for the second consecutive time within the team of stars of the league.

The following season, Keskinen signs with HV 71 of the Elitserien, where it joined its former fellow-member Kai Nurminen, with which it formed an explosive offensive duet. It became extremely popular and attracted with him only crowd with the Rosenlundhallen, the old skating rink of the HV 71. In 1995, it gained with HV 71 the championship of Sweden. Keskinen returned to Finland for a last season into 1999-2000 before withdrawing competition.

With the team of Finland, it took part in 13 international competitions during its career. He was money medal-holder to the Winter Olympics of 1988 with Calgary, of bronze to the Winter Olympics of 1994 with Lillehammer and world champion in 1995 with Stockholm. He is member of the Temple of re-elected Finnish hockey.
