The family of the Érythroxylacées is a family of plants Dicotylédone S including/understanding approximately 250 species divided into 4 kinds:

  • Aneulophus, Erythroxylum, Nectaropetalum, Pinacopodium .

They are trees or shrubs of the subtropics to tropical.

In this family, one can quote the Coca ïers ( Erythroxylum Coke Lam. and Erythroxylum novogranatense (Morris) Hieron), shrubs originating in South America, whose sheets were traditionally mastiquées by the local populations and who since are the subject of clandestine cultures to large scales for the illicit production of Cocaïne.

The phylogenetic Classification place maintaining this family in the order of the Malpighiales.
