The Sémaphore of the Corsican Cape was built on Capo Grosso, as well as a military Radar on Assembles Torrivella, in the south. In Bocca di Serra, on the road leading to Centuri, three mills rise: two of them are in ruin, and the third, known as Mattei mill, recently restored.

History

The old Latin name of Ersa is Arsia , term coming most probably from Arsus , which wants to say arid, and makes certainly reference to certain peaks and rock slopes roasted by the sun present on the commune. The human occupation of the site goes back to one time former to the Roman conquest according to what the Oppidum pre-Roman testifies to Vitalleghju. Of 1248 with 1592, Ersa was integrated into the stronghold of Da Mare of San Colombano di Rogliano, and the commune was devastated by a Turkish occupation of 1555 with 1570. From 1592, the Republic of Genoa annexes Ersa, which joins with Pascal Paoli in 1757. Until the 18th century, the end of the Corsican Cape is the target of frequent incursions of the Pirate S Barbaresque S. When the Corsica becomes French, at the end of the 18th century, one counts 1130 inhabitants with Ersa, who cultivate 200 ha of Vigne. The agricultural and demographic regression reduced from wine surface to 1 ha only, for 135 inhabitants.
