Out of aquarium
Although the Erpetoichthys are not fish found commonly in the stores of aquariphilie, it is of good pets. They are curious, peaceful animals and having some " personnalité". Although the fish cords can reach 90 cm length, 30 or 40 cm are sizes much more current (in date of February 2007). Because of their flexibility, the fish cord can be maintained in tanks of 30 cm broad, which makes perfect the tanks of 120-, 180 liters. Although having manners noctures, Erpetoichthys will make sometimes appearances lasting the day, and one can encourage this behavior by carrying out nourrissage of jour. The fish is known to be able to jump, and thus the aquarium must be provided with a lid firmly fixed and stripped too broad openings.
