Ernst Kris
Ernst Kris is a Psychanalyste and historian of art born on April 26th 1900 with Vienna in Austria and dead on February 27th 1957 with New York.
During his secondary studies the Kris young person impassions himself for art and his history. In 1918 it is registered with the faculty of philosophy of Vienna and becomes graduate history of art in 1922. It becomes preserving museum of History of the art of Vienna.
It is for this reason that its been engaged, Marianne Rie, presents it to Sigmund Freud in 1924 to advise it about its collection of antiquities. The families Freud and Rie maintained the friendly relations and when Mariane begins an analytical formation with Berlin after its studies of medicine, Freud recommends to Kris to also undertake an analysis, which it did with Helene Deutsch.
In 1928 Ernst and Mariane Kris are associated members of the psychoanalytical Company of Vienna, Ernst in parallel continuing a career of historian of Article.
In 1932, Ernst Kris writes its first psychoanalytical study in the review Imago of which he becomes soon joint editor.
After the annexation of Austria by the Nazi Germany Kris take refuge with London where he becomes member didactician of British Psychoanalytical Society while working with BBC as an expert of the analysis of propaganda Nazi.
In 1940 it joined the the United States where it is fixed at New York where it finds Heinz Hartmann. In this city it is named professor in New School for Social Research where it bases a research program on totalitarian propaganda. In 1943 he teaches in the New York Psychoanalytic Institute and becomes member of the Company of psychoanalysis of New York.
By its common articles with Heinz Hartmann and Rudolph Loewenstein and its many articles he is regarded as one of most important representing theoretical current of the Ego-psychology.
He also founded in 1945 the review The Psychoanalytic Study off the Child which he will direct. Finally he is the editor with Anna Freud and Marie Bonaparte of the first editions (censured) of the letters of Freud with Wilhelm Fliess.
