Ernst Elitz

Ernst Elitz , born the July 24th 1941 with Berlin, is a German journalist who occupies the president's function of the DeutschlandRadio (DLR).

Life

From 1960 to 1968, Elitz studies German philology, theatrical science and philosophy with the Freien Universität Berlin (Free University of Berlin). As from 1966, he works for the newspapers Die Zeit and Der Spiegel like for west-Berliner radio RIAS Berlin. In 1974, it joined the ZDF (" the second television allemande"). In 1985, it occupies the post of editor association to the radio Süddeutscher Rundfunk (Radio of Germany of the south). Lastly, since the first January 1994, he is the President of the DLR and thus of his two national plans (culture and information).

He is member of the Council of Higher education of the University of the media ( Hochschule der Medien ). He also works against the hunger in the world with the Stiftung Deutsche Welthungerhilfe (German Foundation of assistance against the hunger in the world).

Distinctions

  • 1991 : Gustav-Heinemann-Bürgerpreis (honors those which help for freedom and justice)

  • 1997: Hans-Böckler-Preis (work and social rights)
  • 2004: Bundesverdienstkreuz (Federal Cross of the Merit: merits acquired with the service of the country and the community)
