Ernesto Lecuona
Ernesto Lecuona (Ernesto Lecuona there Casado) (August 6th (or 7?) 1896 (or 1895?)- November 29th 1963 with Santa Cruz of Tenerife (Canary islands) is a type-setter and pianist Cuba in, born with Guanabacoa, close to Havana.
Biography
Wire of a Journalist Spanish bench with Cuba, it started to study the Piano at 5 years, with his/her sister, 14 years old more than, while having to him as professors Hubert de Blanck and Joaquin Nin there Peyrellade. At only 13 years, it composed its first work, a walk at two times entitled Cuba there América , for an orchestral band and later its first important works, Danzas Cubanas (1911) or el Vals LED the Rhine (1912) whose partition, in spite of its title, confirms its folk tendency. In 1913, it diploma with the national Academy of Cuba with Havana and begins a great round with the the United States, in Spain, France with Lecuona' S Cuban Boys. With Gonzalo Roig and Rodrigo Prats, it forms the most important trilogy of type-setters of the cuban opera house, particularly as regards Zarzuela S. Among its compositions arise from the zarzuelas like Canto Siboney (known under the title of Siboney , and taken again in Its Cuban or Jazz since), Damisela Encantadora , Diablos there Fantasías , El Amor del Guarachero , El Batey (1929), El Cafetal , El Calesero , El Maizal , Flor del Sitio , Tierra de Venus (1927), María O (1930) and Rosa Clouded it (1932); the songs Canto Carabalí , Comparsa and Malagueña (1933), which belongs to its continuation Andalucía (and which impressed Maurice Ravel); its works for dance like Danza of los Ñáñígos and Danza Lucumí ; work El Rumbero de Yarey , the Rapsodia Negra for piano and orchestra like also its Continuation Española .He dies in Santa Cruz of Tenerife, (Canary islands), the November 29th 1963, after having refused to turn over in a Cuba become Communiste.
