Biography
Into 1515, Christophe Ier de Bade divided his possessions between its three sons Ernest de Bade Bernard IV of Bade, Philippe de Bade. In 1503, date of the death of their brother Philippe de Bade-Sponheim, the two brothers shared its possessions. Ernest de Bade-Durlach was the founder of the line of Bade-Durlach known as line Ernestine , this line is always existing it is represented by the current chief of the House of Bade the prince Maximilien de Bade. The line of Bade-Durlach belongs to the fourth branch of the Maison of Bade itself resulting from the first branch of the ducal House of Bade.
