Ernest Victor Hareux

Ernest Hareux , known as also Ernest Vicor Hareux is a painter French landscape designer, born with Paris on February 18th, 1847, and dead on February 16th, 1909 in Grenoble.

At 10 years it draws already. It is an admiror of Alexandre Calame and Gustave Doré. He studies in Paris at Busson, Peloux and Levasseur. He presents his first work to the Living room of 1868. He specializes in the landscape and becomes member of the Société of the French artists in 1883.

He paints in Normandy and in the Hollow one with Crozant where he meets Laurent Guétal, which invites it to Grenoble in 1887. The bad weather which it empéche to paint seems to discourage it, but it returns as of the following year. It ends up becoming a painter of mountain, friend of Theodore Ravanat and other painters of the school of Proveysieux

It is a member of the school from the Dauphine, which also counts among its members Charles Bertier, Jean Achard and some others. They were sometimes called landscape designers from the Dauphine.

He publishes 7 treaties of painting which refer ( complete course of oil-base paint , art, science, the trade of the painter ,…). He illustrates books of mountain.

Hareux is especially known for its paintings of mountain. Founding member of the Company of the painters of the mountain, it saw in " Alpine landscapes a decorative power very imposing which prêtea dmirablement with theatrical paintings or panoramiques."
