Ernest Slipper

Ernest Chausson (Paris, January 20th 1855 - Limay, June 10th 1899) is a Compositeur French.
Biography
Resulting from a middle-class family, it made studies of right and became lawyer before approaching the musical field. He studied then in the class of Jules Massenet with the Conservatoire of Paris, then near César Franck. He went on thereafter journeys in Germany in particular to listen to Richard Wagner with Bayreuth, where he attended the creation of Parsifal . In 1886, he became secretary of the National company of music and accepted at his place many major artists of its time. He died in 44 years of an accident of bicycle, leaving his unfinished string quartet .Its work, relatively modest in quantity (39 opus), remains influenced by its two Masters: César Franck and Richard Wagner. The Poem , for violin and orchestra, the Symphony and the opera the King Arthus are his most known works.
