Ernest Marie Louis Bedel

Ernest Marie Louis Bedel is a Entomologiste French, born the May 16th 1849 with Nantes and dead the January 26th 1922 with Paris.

It makes its studies in Nantes then with Paris where it has as a school-fellow the future entomologist Maurice Sédillot (1849-1933). His/her father makes him take part in exits naturalists where it meets great names of the Natural history like Alcide Dessalines d' Orbigny (1802-1857) and which were also attended future scientists like Henry Chatelier (1850-1936), Henri d' Orbigny (1845-1915) or Pierre Emile Gounelle (1850-1914).

It takes part in the war of 1870 before continuing studies of right. Bedel signs nearly 300 publications mainly devoted to the Coléoptère S. Its collection is preserved at the national Muséum of natural history.
