Ernest Ier of Saxony-Cobourg-Gotha
Ernest Ier (born the January 2nd 1784 and deceased the January 29th 1844) was duke of Saxony-Cobourg-Saalfeld (1806 - 1826) then duke of Saxony-Cobourg-Gotha of the November 12th 1826 with the January 29th 1844.

Biography
His/her father fell seriously sick, the May 10th 1803 the majority was granted to Ernest Ier of Saxony-Cobourg-Gotha. He took part in the government of the duchy. With died his/her father occurred in 1806, it inherited a duchy occupied by the Napoleonean troops and managed by the France. During the signature of the treaty of Tilsitt the 7 and July 9th 1807 its duchy first of all dissolved were given to him thanks to the intervention of the tsar Alexandre Ier of Russia for family reasons, (his/her brother the large-duke Constantin Pavlovitch of Russia was married with the sister of Ernest Ier of Saxony-Cobourg-Gotha).
Ernest Ier of Saxony-Cobourg-Gotha took share to the Bataille of Auerstaedt (October 14th 1806), of Lützen (May 1813), Leipzig (1813). After the victory of united with Waterloo the June 18th 1815, Ernest Ier of Saxony-Cobourg-Gotha accepted Congrès of Vienna the June 9th 1815 a small territory which in 1819 took the name of principality of Lichtenberg, sold with the Prussia in 1834.
Ernest Ier of Saxony-Cobourg-Gotha drew the plans of the fortress of Mainz in 1814.
