Ernest Ferroul
Ernest Ferroul is a Politician French (born with the Farmhouse-Cabardès, Aude, on December 13rd 1853, and deceased with Narbonne, on December 29th 1921) which played a determining role at the time of the Révolte of the vine growers of the Aude in 1907.
Biography
Born in a family from modest clothiers of the Black Mountain, orphan of father, after studies of medicine in Montpellier, Ernest Ferroul settles with Narbonne where quickly, it becomes the " Doctor of Pauvres" considered for its compétances. Following its meetings montpelliéraines with Jules Guesde and Paul Bush, it adheres to socialism. Qualified of red Félibre, it is initiated with the Grand the East of France and founds in 1881 the maconnic Loge " the Freethinking " - The East of Narbonne.At the time of the bys-election of 1888, he is elected Député of Narbonne. With the House of Commons, it joined with the extreme left the seven other socialist deputies ; he is re-elected in 1889. In 1891, he is elected Maire of Narbonne, and since, his bust throne in the office of all the mayors of Narbonne who succeeded to him. Active but also very virulent elected official, it is beaten in 1893 and 1898, and loses the Town hall of Narbonne of 1897 to 1900. He is re-elected appointed in 1899 following the invalidation of Edmond Bartissol, elected appointed in 1898. In 1902, he resigns of his mandate of deputy to devote itself to his orphan nephews and the Town hall of Narbonne.
The wine crisis
The wine crisis of 1907 at the head finds it at the sides of Marcellin Albert, of Argeliers, initator of the Révolte of the vine growers of the South of 1907. Its ignited speeches and its roughness with respect to the Parisian capacity make of him the character emblematic of all the South. Imprisoned on June 19th, 1907, Ernest Ferroul is the powerful orator of the vine growers of the South. In the tread, it founds and chairs the General confederation of Vine growers of the South on September 22nd, 1907, it is elected General adviser of the Aude, in many cantons at the time of the elections of October 1907. It remains at the XXI century a legendary and venerated personality of all the South and Town of Narbonne, it leaves the memory of the red powerful orator interdependent of oppressed, of the elected official devoted for the vine growers, his town of Narbonne and its fellow-citizens, with the strong socialist conviction. In deferent recognition in many communes of the South, a street, an avenue, a boulevard bear its name. He is the inspirer of S.F.I.O of the Aude which becomes socialist ground vis-a-vis the radicals as of the Twenties pennies the impulse of Eugene Montel
Monuments

has Narbonne, the displacement of the monument to its memory, the representative, set up upright in 1933 by national subscription by the General confederation of the vine growers, started a sharp polemic, proving still quite long-lived the affection carried by the Narbonneses with their former mayor and by the wine growers with their powerful orator. The monument is today on the left Palate of Work, one can read the following homage there: “vehement powerful orator trainer of crowd who was used with enthusiasm ground as oc”

a monument would still have been built with Farmhouse-Cabardès. It would include/understand a bust at the stone but bronze origin today following the non-ferrous metal requisition of 1941.
