Ernest Edward Austen
The major Ernest Edward Austen is a British Entomologiste , born the October 19th 1867 with London and dead the January 16th 1938 in this same city.
He is the son of Ambrose Austen. He makes his studies with Heidelberg in Germany. Austen Marie with Cecile Mary NoPel Buchanan in 1905, this one dies in 1932.
It enters to the Natural History Museum of London in 1889 and is preserving at the department of Entomologie of 1927 with 1932. It takes part as naturalist in the Brésil in 1895 - 1896 and in the first mission of the tropical medical school of Liverpool in the Sierra Leone in 1899 under the direction of Sir Ronald Ross (1857-1932).
Austen takes part in work of the commission on the Maladie of the sleep in 1913 - 1914, then with that on the Tsetse fly and the Criquet S. It receives the medal Mary Kingsley of the tropical medical school of Liverpool. He is member in particular of the zoological Société of London.
Austen in particular makes appear has Monograph off the Tsetse-Flies-genus Glossina, Westwood-based one the collection in the British Museum (London, 1903), off has handbook the Tsetse-Flies (Genus Glossina ) (Longmans & Co., 1911) and several other works on Diptère S vectors of diseases illustrated by Amedeo John Engel Terzi (1872-1956). It also makes appear several little books on harmful insects like the mites, the bugs of bed or the domestic fly. On the latter, it is in particular necessary to appear The House-Fly ace has Danger to Health and The House-Fly: its life-history and practical measures for its suppression, republished many times. Auster is also the author of Bombyliidae off Palestine (London, 1937).
It also translates works of French doctors like Albert Calmette (1861-1933) ( Venoms. Venomous animals and antivenomous serumtherapeutics... , J. Basle & Co., London, 1908) or Etienne Burnet (1873-1960) ( The Campaign against Microbes , Basle, Sounds & Danielsson, London, 1909).
