Ermengarde of Anjou (dead in 1076)

Ermengarde of Anjou , known as White , dead the March 18th 1076, was a princess of the family of the Ingelgeriens and girl of Foulque III '' Nerra '', count d' Anjou, and of Hildegarde.

She married in first weddings Geoffroy II Ironwood, count of Gâtinais and had:

  • a girl, married about 1050 in Josselin Ier, lord of Courtenay. One allots the first name of Hildegarde to this girl, but it is possible that results from a confusion with a homonymous half-sister.
  • Geoffroy III Bearded the (1040 † 1096-7), count de Gâtinais and of Anjou
  • Foulque IV Réchin (1043 † 1109), count d' Anjou

She was already widowed when his/her mother left in pilgrimage to Jerusalem in 1046 and died during the voyage. She remaria with the Capétien Robert I {{er}} the Old man, duke of Burgundy, and had:

  • Hildegarde, alive in 1080, which married towards 1067 Guy-Geoffroy-Guillaume VIII († 1086), duke of Aquitaine, of Gascogne and count de Poitiers.

His/her brother Geoffroy II Martel died in 1060, and they were its sons Geoffroy and Foulques who succeeded to him.
