Erik Larsen is an author of Comic S states-unien born the December 8th 1962 with Mineapolis in the Minnesota.
It starts to meet success while working at Marvel Comics at the end of the years 1980s. It draws there various series of Spider-Man and the Punisher. When Todd McFarlane leaves Spiderman , Larsen there scénarise and draws an epopee on 6 numbers entitled “the revenge of the six disasters” (“ Revenge off the Sinister Six ”).
Asserting more control on their work, him and six other artists (others being Marc Silvestri, Rob Liefeld, Jim Lee, Jim Valentino, Todd McFarlane and Whilce Portacio) leave Marvel to form Image Comics, where Larsen launches a series imagined in his youth: The Savage Dragon.
In the pages of Savage Dragon, Erik Larsen recognizes the influence of Jack Kirby and Walt Simonson, for its scenarios implying of the alternate grounds (Savage Dragon #43, #44, 45) and of the muscular battles (combat between Hercules and Thor, Savage Dragon #47). Generally, Erik Larsen has a way of seeing the comics with “the old one”, it privileges the scenes of brawl and the bounces unexpected.
If it continues to write and illustrate The Savage Dragon , Larsen works still occasionally for Marvel, on titles like Fantastic Four: The World' S Greatest Comic Magazine , The Defenders , Wolverine , Spiderman and Nova . It also scénarisé Aquaman for cd. Comics in 1999.
In 2004 Larsen becomes editor of Image Comics.
