Opposite Lina

The only character common to all the stories of Slayers.
It is a very powerful witch in black magic which travels through the world to acquire experiment. It has a very bad character although having good bottom, proud, profiteuse, a monstrous appetite and its cupidity are unbounded. Nevertheless, all that is only one frontage. Its body not being very developed for its age, Lina is particularly likely with this sujet.

Gourry Gabrief

Expert warrior with the sword, Gourry is an young man travelling in the world to make his life. Always pleasant, it assists from people in danger and fact from the remunerated jobs. Thanks to its sword of light, it can overcome any adversaire.
almost Its only defect is that it is an idiot incurable.
In the film Slayers Perfect, we can see his/her parents - or its ancestors - who name Rody Gabrief and Merylune (an elf)

Amelia will Selone Tesla

Retributive of the group, Amelia is obsessed to fight the evil, although she seeks more to have fun that to defend the justice.
Amelia is the girl of prince Phillionnel de Selone, which in fact a princesse.

Zelgadis Graywords

It is the most serious character of all the history. Warrior and magician at the same time, it has an high speed, resistance and magic capacity, which makes it very effective during the engagements. Part of its power comes from its transformation into dream, mixture between a Golem of stone, human and a Mazoku (demon), with the detriment of sound apparence.
Its major goal is to recover its body of origin, but its goal is still not reached… French voice: Pierre François Pistorio

Naga the white snake

Principal rival of Lina (Autoproclamée), Naga is a powerful witch also nut and covetous, but whose body is the opposite of that of Lina (what does not fail to make it rager). She travels with Lina by friendship, but by using the pretext which she does not want that Lina makes of the profits in its absence.
Its laughter is rather alarming, except for it. It is a laughter, intended mainly to scorn the remainder of the humanity, which one forgets never again as soon as it was heard. Japanese voice: Maria Kawamura

Contexts

There exist two contexts in the Slayers universe:

- that of the series: one finds Lina Inverse with Gourry, Amelia and Zelgadis. The film Slayers Premium (the 5th film) is also an adventure with these characters (in spite of a " wink " in the form of a brief appearance of Naga).

- that of the OAV: one only finds Lina Inverse with Naga. It is also the context of the first 4 films.

part of the universe of Slayers is found in Lost Universe, of the same author. It would be one of the four worlds crés by the lord of Darkness. This one with different gods and demons that the Slayers universe.

Magic in Slayers

The magic in Slayers is subdivided in five categories of which three are well-known.

Magic White, which draws its force from the nature which surrounds us, mainly used to cure, to defend and assist his/her companions.

The Shamanistique magic, which draws its power from the 5 basic elements: fire, water, ground air as well as the heart. Is used mainly as power of striking with some defensive uses or assistance.

The Noire magic, which draws its power from various demons of the world of Slayers. Just like its source, the fates of this category are especially offencifs or cruel. Lina is a magician specialized in these fates. The Demon whose force is used should not be obligatorily alive to use the fate, since Garve Flare rests on the power of Garve, which will be eliminated (and used thereafter) and Slayers Dragon resting on Shabrani Godou will be used after the destruction of this last. Moreover, there would seem to be a distinction between the magic which uses the demons, which can differ from those usable by the wizards not having passed of pacts

Magic known as divine, used only by some rare initiates such Ryuzokus and Opposite Luna, the sister of Lina which makes fear with the latter very. Its uses are very diverse and go from the attack to the cure. It draws its force from Cepheid, Version of Slayers of the benevolent god, and the 5 large elementary dragons. The divine magic would be the true counterpart of the black magic from its source.

Magic of the chaos, which off draws its power from the Lord Nightmares, the most powerful entity of the universe of Slayers. The two known fates of the magic of chaos are Giga Slave and Laguna Blade.

Slavic Drag (Slavic Dragon/Dragon Slayer/Drag Slayer)

This incantation devastator is one of two more powerful of Lina (but this magic can also destroy the city at the same time.) It draws its capacity from Shabrani Goudou, and is the technique most often used, with fire ball, often to complete the enemy.

Slavic Giga

The most powerful incantation of the universe of Slayers. Draw its capacity to be it supreme known under the name of " Lord off Nightmares" (the Lord of the nightmares) which would have created the universe of Slayers as well as the Gods, Mazokus (Demons), Ryuuzokus (Dragons) and the men. This fate thus has a potential larger than that of the Slavic Dragon which draws “only” its power from the Lord of Chaos, the mother of all the demons. Its potential is so large that Lina seals this fate and swears to use it never again, of fear of destroying the world, when Clare Bible reveals to him the true origin of the fate and its effects. Nevertheless, it will nevertheless use it, after this revelation, preferring to save the life of Gourry and its friends, even if it means to sacrifice the world and to leave the life there. The Lord of Darkness will invest his body then and will exaucera the last wish of Lina. He will ressuscitera then Lina, by seeing the abnegation of which made Gourry proof to save it. It is from there that it will not use it any more. This fate uses magic force so much that the user loses his capacities of them and that its hair becomes temporarily white.

Laguna Blade

Leaves that Lina discovered in copies of Clare Bible. Just like Slavic Giga, this fate is based on the energy of the lord of the nightmares. On the other hand, in the place of an explosion of energy, the fate canalyse power in a blade of energy able to cut out any thing. This fate is one of the two most powerful formulas that Lina will use, except for Giga Slave which exceeds them, but that it will decide not to use more, knowing its potential.

Dragon Slayer is an offensive fate remotely, creating a kind of ball of energy extrèmement destroying, while Laguna Blade concentrates energy in a blade, which required to fight as a epeist the enemy.

The two fates have an equivalent power, nevertheless Laguna Blade can slice dimensional fabrics, and the barriers of all kinds, contrary to Dragon Slayer, and to use it does not cause damage collateral (like the destruction of a city), but consumes much more energy, and requires to take the risk to be wounded, in front of going to the body to body, and which can made be touched by the enemy.
