Eric X of Sweden
Erik X (Erik Knutson) (1180? - 1216) were king of Sweden of 1208 with 1216.
Only survivor of four wire of Knut Ier Eriksson, it takes refuge in Norway. Of return in its country, it beats with its partisans, the January 31st 1208 with Kungslena in Västergötland, a Danish army which supported its candidate and who was led by wire of Sune. An attempt at mediation with division of the kingdom carried out by the wife of Sveker II exiled to the Denmark fails and the former king finds death the July 17th 1210 with Gestilren in Västergötland at the time of a new attempt to recover his throne.
Victorious, Erik Knutsson reconciles with the pope Innocent III which had it excommunicated and which charges it with continuing the Christianisation Finland. He will be thus first king de Suède with being crowned in 1210 by the archbishop of Uppsala.
Erik Knutsson also makes peace with Denmark. He marries in 1210 Richiza, a girl of the king Valdemar Ier of Denmark which gives him: Ingeborg (dead in 1254), Sophia (dead in 1241) wife of Henri II Burvin de Mecklembourg and Marianna (dead in 1252) wife of Barnim Ier de Poméranie, Helene marries Knut II long king Sweden, as well as a posthumous boy the future king Eric XI.
The king dies in Visingö the April 10th 1216 and the Richiza queen disappears in her turn in 1220 old only thirty years. She will be buried in the church of St Bengts to Ringsted.
