Eric Cleon Larson is a draftsman and stimulating American, born it (1905 and deceased the October 25th 1988. He was member of the legendary team of the " Nine Old Men " studios Disney.

Biography

Eric Larson was born the September 3rd 1905 with Cleveland in the Utah. After academics of journalism, he traverses the the United States for various magazines as a Freelance. In 1933, it obtains a post office of detached permanent with Los Angeles to carry out a named radio broadcast " The Trail off the Viking" for Radio KHJ. The same year it is presented on the councils of a couple of friend draftsmen to the studios Disney. It is directly committed as an assistant Dessinateur.

During the following years, Eric takes part in films such as Blanche Snow and the 7 dwarves (1937), Fantasia (1940), Bambi (1942), Cendrillon (1950), Alice with the country of the wonders (1951), Peter Pan (1953), the Beautiful one and the Tramp (1955), the Book of the Jungle (1967) and Sleeping Beauty (Disney) (1959).

He also took part in more than 20 short films and 5 special programs of televisions. He occupied also a post of consultant.

In 1973, it is indicated to direct research and a formation vast program of new organizers of talents for the needs for the studio. This program which continues still nowadays was launched at one crucial period of the activity of Disney, at one moment when the majority of the old organizers left to the retirement after often more than forty years of career. Starting from the end of the Years 1970, it recruits many great current figures of the animation of which:

Eric Larsen could take his retirement in 1986. In an interview of the time, he declares: " It is not important to know how long one worked here but how much one could offer moments of joy and what one could all achieve. If I think of my contribution to the feature-length films of animation, that many people find if sympathetic nerves, then I feel a feeling of bien-être."

It is deceased the October 25th 1988 with Cañada Flintridge in California. It was named a Disney Legend the following year on a purely posthumous basis.
