Eric Lagacé

Eric Lagacé is traditional Contrebassiste and of jazz. He is the son of Bernard and Mireille Lagacé, born with Montreal the July 8th 1959.

He received the first prices of dictated Contrebasse and of the Academy of music of Montreal in 1985, the first price of Harmonie in 1989, the first prices of Fugue and Contrepoint in 1991. He played with several symphony orchestras of which OSM, the Symphony orchestra of Quebec and the Symphony orchestra of Barcelona. Since 1987 he is member of the metropolitan Orchestra of Montreal.

Follower so much of the cord rubbed pinch than, it accompanied by the musicians of jazz such Vic Vogel and Oliver Jones. In 1989 it accompanied Michel Legrand in recital in Montreal.

It arranged and composed of the parts for the radio broadcast Without borders with SRC in 1990 and 1991.

He became professor of double bass to the Université Concordia in 1988 and repeater for the Symphony orchestra of the Young people since 1989.

In a recent emission (2007) of Mélomaniaques animated by Gregory Charles which treats music with young or older interpreters, he entrusted to the televiewers that when he was child, he was accustomed to balancing himself at the rate/rhythm of the music, sitted under the harpsichord of his mother when this one repeated.
