Eric Knight

Eric Knight was born in 1897 in Yorkshire. The death of his/her father having dispersed the family, it found her mother only in 1912, in the United States where she had settled. After the First War, he worked for reviews and the cinema. He lived in a farm in Pennsylvania when its preferred bitch inspired the history of Lassie to him, faithful dog , which had a great success and was carried to the screen.

He wrote other novels and collections of news of Littérature of childhood and youth. All carry the mark of its typical humor: that of its native Yorkshire.

Eric Knight died in 1943 on board an American military aircraft.
