Eric Donfu

Eric Donfu is a public figure, writer, French sociologist and former elected official of the city of the Havre born with Antony (the Seine) at the end of 1961.

On the sociological level, Eric Donfu was in particular trained by the professor emeritus of the Sorbonne Joffre Dumazedier (1915/2002), old of Uriage, founder of People and Cultures, and was regarded as the father of the civilization of the leisures with which it published a book (the lesson of Condorcet, education for all necessary to a Republic, Harmattan, 1994). It is Eric Donfu who signed his obituary in the daily newspaper Le Monde (September 27th, 2002) and work of Joffre Dumazedier on self-training as on the sociology of the action and autonomous cultural development inspires the work of Eric Donfu. But Eric Donfu is also guided by many work of his mother, Claudine Attias Donfut, on the sociology of the generations (to read, inter alia, Sociologie of the Generations, the print of time, PUF, 1988)

Thus Eric Donfu became a recognized sociologist not only of social times, but also of the family ties and transformations of the contemporary company. Its last book “Oh! granny boom” (editions Jacob-Duvernet, 2007) reveals thus a social phenomenon, the metamorphosis of the woman of more than fifty years. Its next works are “the metamorphosis of Carrot” and “Under the paving stones, the rollers”. Envisaged to be published simultaneously in the United States and in China, “the metamorphosis of Carrot” questions us on science, the human nature, its bond with humanity, but also on the major motivations which precede the individual of tomorrow. “Under the paving stones, the rollers” makes the portrait of a generation which was 20 years old in 1968 and which will be 60 years old in 2008, while wondering about the topicality of the value “revolts”, on enthusiasm, and on the revolution to come from the babyboomers… of other books, in particular of the accounts and a book on Le Havre, are awaited. One lends also the project to him to publish soon a novel in which the first role would be dedicated to the 20th century.

Former advertizing executive, directing council of the Publicis groups and EuroRscg, Eric Donfu is the inventor of the educity (educational publicity), which is in particular at the base of the " infomercials" televised. Eric Donfu is also the author of the project of the " Indentity card of France" who would owe populatiser the assets of our country in 25 languages and 120 million specimens.

Former collaborator of ministerial cabinets, elected local official of the City of Le Havre during twelve years, assistant of the mayor in charge of the economic affairs (1989/1995), president of the socialist group at the municipal council (1995-2001), candidate with the municipal elections, cantonal, regional and legislative, it is recognized beyond traditional cleavages. Very implied in economic development as in the fight against pollution navy (in particular with the perfume “Revolted” that it created) it is one of the principal Havraises personalities.

But Eric Donfu is before a whole atypical and eclectic sociologist, whose course is already long. He thus founded since 1985, at the age 25 years, a workshop of studies on the contemporary company, DRS Dialogs and Social relations, which he always chairs (www.drsopinion.com site). The broad echo of its work, by its works, in the press and through many studies and conferences, makes an actor of the new French and international sociology of it.

In 2002, Eric Donfu created the festival of the word and the sound new XYZ which it chairs and which celebrates each third Thursday of November the “word invented of the year” around the new beaujolais wine, in homage to Raymond Queneau, Rene Fallet, Bobby Lapointe and Jean Paulhan, and opened to the young people and less young artists who make live the French language. Its work is also directed towards the food, sciences cognitive and new technologies of information.
