Eric Di Meco

Eric Di Meco is old a footballer French born the September 7th 1963 with Avignon (France) from now on City council man UMP in Marseilles.

Biography

Resulting from the training center of the Olympic of Marseilles, Di Meco belonged to the famous band of the “minots” which at the beginning of the Années 1980 made it possible the club to survive then to go up in League 1. Pure left-handed, Di Meco evolves/moves at this period as a left winger or a left medium. After not very conclusive loans with Nancy then with Martigues, Di Meco returns to Marseilles, where the trainer of then decides to reconvert it behind side, always on the left. It is at this station that Di Meco takes part in the most beautiful hours of Olympic of Marseilles, to the championship of Europe in 1993.

Indisputable holder in what is then one of the largest clubs of Europe, Di Meco is logically called in team of France by Michel Platini starting from 1989. But its style more than rough, often with the limit of the red paperboard, does not enable him to be essential at the Blue ones. Absent from the adventure of the Euro 1992, it is also ignored by Gerard Houllier over the period 1992-1993. It continues nevertheless a brilliant career in club since under the colors of the ACE Monaco, it gains a new championship of France in 1997 before a serious wound with the knee does not force it to put a term at its career.
