Ergolz
The Ergolz is a Rivière of Suisse.
Course
Ergolz takes its source in the Massif of the Jura, precisely in the Geissflue close to Rohr, crosses the whole of the Canton of Basle-Countryside (from which it is the greatest river) to be thrown in the the Rhine with the height of Augst.
History
At the time Roman, the river fed out of drinking water the town of Augusta Raurica via a Aqueduc located roughly at the current height of Liestal. This aqueduct is still visible nowadays in Liestal like close to the purification plant of Füllinsdorf.As of the 14th century, many Mill S and Scierie S are built on the wire of Ergolz, sometimes transformed at the 19th century into Filature S.
During the 20th century the rate of pollution of Ergolz went increasing until construction, in 1960, several purification plants on its course.
Flowing
Flowing of Ergolz are the ruissaux Eibach, Homburgerbach, Diegterbach, Hintere- and Vordere- Frenke, Orisbach, Röserenbach and Violenbach.
