Eregion is a fictitious area resulting from the universe of J.R.R. Tolkien.
It is in the west of the Misty Monts. Eregion , “country of the houx” in Sindarin, is called “Houssaye” ( Hollin ) by the men. The area is occupied for the first time in year 750 of the Second Age by Gwaith-i-Mírdain, the goldsmiths elves who, with Sauron, forged the Anneaux of Being able. Its principal city, Ost-in-Edhil, are entirely destroyed in 1697 S.A., during the war between Sauron and the Elves. During the centuries which follow, the area remains deserted.
