Erching

Erching ( German Erchingen in ) is a common French, located in the department of the the Moselle and the area Lorraine. The Village belongs to the Regional natural park of the Vosges of North and of the basin of life of the Moselle-is.

Geography

The Village of Erching and its variation of Guiderkirch are located at the German Frontière , established on the Bickenalb.

History

The Village and the variation are occupied as of the Gallo-Roman time, as the five sites discovered on the communal round of applause testify some. Mentioned in 1333 in the form Erichingen , of the Germanic name of man Eriko , the locality is, from the spiritual point of view, an appendix of the Paroisse of Guiderkirch, set up in 1804, after being last of the archpriest of Hornbach to that of Volmunster in 1802.

The commune depends on the Canton of Volmunster since 1790.

Erching was destroyed at the time of the furious combat of the winter 1944-45 (Opération Nordwind), particularly during an American air raid, on February 23rd, 1945, which made 70 victims among the civil population. About half of the dwellings were destroyed, which explains the quasi total absence of inheritance, if one excludes the vault Holy-Anne and some crosses of way.

The Population varied little, passing from 565 inhabitants in 1817 with 667 in 1844. In 1982, it counted 428 more inhabitants.
