Eragon

Summary

The young person Eragon, 15 years old, lives in an insolated village of the name of Carvahall, corner moved back of the world of Alagaësia. He lives with his uncle Garrow and his cousin Roran. When he discovers, at the time of hunting, “strange and curious blue, smooth stone and digs”, he does not know yet at which point its destiny and that of Alagaësia will be affected about it for always…
Resulting from a not very easy family, it thus tries to benefit from it near the butcher who rejects it at once that it learns that this stone comes from the Peak, from the cursed mountains. As he learns it the night when the stone hatches, which he took for a stone is not other than an egg of dragon. This dragon is in fact a dragonne: it will be called Saphira and it will start to secretly raise it out of sight of all. One day, in its absence, from the Ra' zac S (of the allied creatures to the Empire of Galbatorix) come to destroy the house of Eragon in order to find egg: his/her uncle Garrow will die following their torture. Eragon then swears to avenge its death. It begins then its initiation of Dragonnier, helped well by Brom, the Conteur Master, who was formerly a dragonnier. This one had lost a long time before its dragonne, named it also Saphira. Eragon will obtain also a sword, Zar' rock, of which the name wants to say suffering in old language, which belonged to Morzan, the last of the Perjuries, killed by Brom. Eragon continues its search: to kill Ra' zacs and Galbatorix whereas it is followed by armies of Urgal S, sent by the King. A Ombre, named Durza (wizard had by a bad spirit) seeks it using of Urgals and its capacity malefic to subject the world to its will, in order to acquire the power of the dragons to devastate the monde.
Tracked by the henchmen of the king Galbatorix, Eragon joint with the Vardens, a rebellious group made of human as much as dwarves and elves. Although he does not want to assume his destiny, he finds himself then mingled with events which started well before its birth… He will be plunged in epic adventures in company of Brom and the elf Arya, the friend whom he will have delivered with the hands of the terrible henchmen of the Shade. It was published because the father of Christopher Paolini is editor}}, and that its exit was surrounded by an impressive publicity campaign: round with the the United States, support of Carl Hiaasen. The result: better sale during 24 weeks and a great number of fans. Sold to 2,5 million specimens in North America.
