Into Breton, er Lannig means “the small moor” (orthography unified: “ Ar Lannig ”).
Geography
Er Lannic is located in the Golfe of Morbihan, with 500m in the south of the island of Gavrinis. It belongs to the commune of Arzon as well as the islands of Ar Gazeg and Hentenn. A lawsuit of 1770 indicates that revenues were still paid then for submerged pieces with high tide between Sarzeau and Illur.
Monuments
The island includes/understands a double raised stone enclosure (also called Cromlec' H) which forms two of horseshoe. Because of increase of the sea level in the gulf since the Neolithic , it is partially immersed and only one enclosure is visible. This double enclosure include/understand approximately 49 menhirs with which 33 are covered with high tide, which highlights the rise of water compared to the time of installation of the site. In 1926, excavations made it possible to highlight the presence of 70 Menhir at the origin of the monument.
Excavations under navy were carried out in 1991 and 1992 in order to define a new topographic plan of it.
