Eréndira
The princess Eréndira is a princess p' urhepecha beginnings of the Conquête of Mexico by the Spanish , at the beginning of the 16th century.
The king of P' urhepechas Tangoxoan II had offered his kingdom to the Spaniards after it had assisted with the defeat of his powerful rival the Aztec Empire. The Légende allots to Eréndira a role of resistance to the peninsular occupant but the reported events do not have a historical confirmation.
In its honor, Eréndira continuous to be used like first name in Mexico, as attests it the news of Gabriel García Márquez the Incredible one and sad history of ingenuous Erendira and of its diabolic grandmother .
