The equilibrism or practical of the balance is a discipline of the performing arts used primarily in Cirque, but also in Danse, Gymnastique, in certain sports (Cyclisme, Slackline and all the sliding sports).

It gathers:

  • balances of the body alone:
    • on its legs (in much of sports)
    • on the Finger S of the hands (Musculation) and of the feet (Points in dance),
    • on the Hand S: tended support reversed in gymnastics, to go on the hands, balances on an arm,…;
    • on the front armlever, the elbow S or the head (in Breakdance for example);
  • balances on objects with the circus:

    • the wire: wire, Tightrope, the cord (see also Funambulist);
    • the ball: it is about a large ball which can vary from with several meters in diameter on laquel one goes;
    • the trapezoid;
    • the fabric;
    • the stilt S;
    • the Monocycle, the giraffe and the ultimate Wheel;
    • the free scale;
    • the pole;
    • the Chair (see Henry' S);
    • the Bicycle;
    • glasses;
    • the rola-bola (rolla-bolla?) or American roller: it is about a plank of wood laid out on a cylinder on which it is necessary to hold.
