Equatorial Climate

The equatorial climate is a type of Climat of the intertropical hot zone. It relates to the areas close to the equator.

It is characterized by only one Saison, of strong Précipitation S with a maximum with the equinoxes and an almost constant strong heat all the year. The average temperature is of 26,9°C. It is a climate hot but wet, which gives the impression of moistness. The Atmospheric pressure is always low. The winds are rare, except some Tornade S or typhoon S related to local low pressures. The rains are almost daily, it rains approximately 1755 mm of rain per annum and the rains are much more abundant with the equinoxes and are especially rains of evening. Indeed the overheated air knows upswings which aspire humid air. In altitude it occurs a cooling (clouds of the type Cumulo-nimbus) which gives often violent rains.

The rivers often have gigantic flows, the Congo runs out 40.000 cubic meters with the second, and the the Amazon nearly 150.000. The grounds are washed and gives the lateritic Argile of red color (due to the presence of iron oxide), the other soluble minerals (in particular bases) having been involved. They are generally poor grounds. Its natural vegetation is the dense Forêt (or Jungle).

Example of country to the equatorial climate: Iquitos with the Amazonian Peru
