Epiploon

the epiploon is the name of two folds of the Péritoine; it is called also omentum or mésos .
- the greater omentum goes from the Estomac to the transverse Côlon and forms an apron with double layer which is found on the surface of the intestines;
- the lesser omentum is tightened stomach with the liver.
Each epiploon is traversed by many vessels.
Pathologies
Its principal pathologies are:- Infarction: The Infarctus of the greater omentum is translated by an abdominal painful syndrome more or less intense, and with the scanner by a thickening localized of the greater omentum.
- the Volvulus of the mésentère which is a mechanical accident corresponding to the rotation of the root of the Mésentère on its axis and which involves a sténose arterial and venous pedicle vascular mesenteric.
- the Tuberculosis péritonéale now exceptional, is observed mainly at the transplanted or immuno-depressed subjects.
- the Carcinose péritonéale is the most frequent, generally secondary lesion with a cancer of the ovary, Pancréas or stomach, but also of the Intestin, Foie and bile Ducts or a cancer of the Sein.
