Epanagoge
The epanagoge is a code of law in force under the emperors Basile {{Ier}} the Macedonian, Leon VI Wise the and Alexandre III. Probably promulgated in 886, it comprises 40 titles. The patriarch Photios wrote the foreword and two articles of them on the emperor and the patriarch.
Epanagôgé was to be used as introduction to the Basiliques of Leon VI and to replace the preceding code, the Ekloga of the Isauriens. It itself quickly is however replaced by another code, the Prochiron .
