Enzio

Enzio or Enzo, or Heinz was born in Palermo about 1220, died in Bologna in 1272

He is the son of the emperor Frederic II (1194-1250). Enzio was itself king de Sardaigne. It lost the battle of Fossalta in 1249 and was taken along in captivity to Bologna where it lived 23 years in a gilded exile, if it is only its clan (gibelins) were held in failure.

He wrote poems of love of a tone enough manner and often obscure.

He contributed, with his Manfred brother and his Frederic father, at the School of Sicily which produced the first literary works in popular Italian language.
