Environmental technology

The environmental technology (still called technology of the environment or green Technology ) is an application of the environmental sciences of which the goal is the development of tools for:

  • monitoring and the measurement of the pollutants (air, water, ground…) ;
  • the rehabilitation or the cleansing of contaminated places (fight against the oil slicks, conservation of the ground, Sequestration of carbon, Protection against radiation);
  • the management of waste: Recycling, incineration of the household refuse, purification of water…;
  • the reasoned use of the resources: écoconstruction, saving energy, savings in water;
  • reinforcement of the use of clean energies renouvables and (solar energy, Geothermics…) ;
All these tools are used to reduce our Empreinte ecological and must allow us a Sustainable development .

The Sustainable development is the core of the environmental technologies . When one applies it to the environmental problems, the solutions must be socially equitable, economically viable and ecological.
