Environmental regrouping

The environmental regrouping is a concept aiming at an agriculture of environmental high-quality, in particular suggested in France at the time of the Grenelle of the environment (in 2007)

Objectives

The environmental regrouping has a double objective:
  • to gather arable lands pertaining to one or more Farmer S for practical reasons, like the traditional regrouping.
  • to contribute to the ecological mending of meshes of the territory, for environmental reasons.
consequently
Il must contribute to reconstitute the green Trame local (topic retained by Grenelle of the environment) and to contribute to the restoration of the ecological Réseau paneuropéen whose green screen is one of the variations. To the difference in the traditional regrouping which often contributed to the re-callipering of the River, to the suppression and/or the correction of Chemin S, slope, hedges and with the drainage of some wetlands, this new regrouping would aim on the contrary to restore, protect and to manage the natural resources, ground and wetlands in particular, by arranging the agricultural pieces by taking account of the relief, the risks of erosion, geology and pedology, etc It could also contribute to restore a function of carbon well to the elements of the not cultivated and nonartificial landscapes.

Outlines

At the evening of the roundtables of Grenelle of the environment, on October 25th, 2007, it was yet only one concept and a proposal which clearly does not seem to have been or précisémen quoted in the measurements retained within the framework of the Grenelle .

It could be already pressed on new tools such as the environmental Bail.

The operation of regrouping are often carried out at the time of the construction of new infrastructures like highways or railway lines which must theoretically contribute to preserve the natural environments and with this intention to be accompanied by impact studies.

In France, in the context of the right

The regrouping, as such, does not exist today any more, since the Relative law with the Development of the Rural Territories (LDTR of February 23rd, 2005) replaced it by the procedure of agricultural and forest Improvement of land.
