Entertainment Television

E! (or Entertainment Television ) is a television channel by cable and American satellite and international. E! was created in 1987 under the name Movietime as a joint venture between Comcast and Westinghouse. It was renamed E! in 1991.

Since the shareholding changed to become: Comcast 50%, Walt Disney Company 40% and Liberty Media 10%. In November 2006, Comcast repurchased the 40% of Disney for 1,23 billion $ n the other hand of an agreement of distribution of the Disney chains.

E! is specialized in the emissions on the star system and the show American business. Its fields of predilection are the cinema, television and the music. In 2005, E! is received by 80 million hearths in the United States and by 400 million hearth abroad.

There exist local variations, under license, of E! with the Brazil, the Filipino , in Israel and France.

E! birth gave has a chain specialized in the fashion and decoration: Style Network.
