Enrico Verson

Enrico Verson is a Italian Entomologiste , born the April 25th 1845 with Padoue and dead the February 15th 1927 in this same city.

Of medical formation , Verson works initially at the experimental station of Gorigia before basing the first research station on the Silkworm of the world, Stazione Bacologica Sperimentale in 1871.

Verson carried out multiple observations on the biology of the silkworm and fact of important anatomical discoveries like the cells of Verson (or cells versoniennes which indicates a particular apical cellular type of the genital apparatus of some Insecte S) and glands of Verson (glands of the skin of the caterpillars playing a big role in the moult).

It has a considerable influence on the Italian entomologists of the following generation like Antonio Berlese (1863-1927), Adolfo Targioni Tozzetti (1823-1902) or Filippo Silvestri (1873-1949).
