Enrico Caviglia
Enrico Caviglia (born the May 4th 1862 with Final Ligurian - deceased the March 22nd 1945 with Final Ligurian) military and politician Italy N who illustrated during the First World War.
Biography
After having obtained the rank of officer to the military academy of Turin, Caviglia is promoted under-lieutement in 1883 and is used in various bodies as artillery. Of 1904 with 1911, it exerts the station of military attach3e with Tokyo and Beijing. It is also useful in Italian Eastern Africa and takes share with the italo-Turkish Guerre.
When the First World War bursts, it is named brigadier general and order the “brigade of Bari infantry” on Low Isonzo. In 1917, it conquers as a lieutenant-general the plate of Bainsizza. At the time of the Battle of Piave, it orders VIIIe Corps Italian whose role was decisive.
Immediately after the war, the king d' Angleterre George V decrees the to him Ordre of the Bath. The February 22nd 1919, he becomes senator with life and becomes also Minister for the War in the government of Vittorio Emanuele Orlando. It solves the problem of Fiume caused by Gabriele d' Annunzio. The June 25th 1926, the fascistic government decrees to him the dignity of marshal for his role during the First World War. Not supporting the Fascism, he saw then in a relatively withdrawn way. After the armistice of the September 8th 1943, it takes the command of Rome and manages to grant the city the statute of open city , after negotiations with the marshal Kesselring. He dies little of time afterwards, the March 22nd 1945 with Ligure Finale. ----
