English Boxing
The English Boxe is a sport of combat in which two adversaries, of similar weights, meet on a Ring, provided with gloves in order to limit the risk of cut, and exchange punches, carried to the face and the bust. The combat is divided into time interval, the rounds, separated by one minute from rest announced by a cloche.
That it is in boxing Olympique or professional, combatants, or boxers, try to avoid the punches of their adversary while trying to touch them. Points are allotted to each blow considered as Net, powerful and precise. At the end of the combat, the boxer having the most points is declared vainqueur.
The victory can also be reached if a combatant puts his adversary out of combat (by knockout or KB), i.e. in the incapacity to be raised and take again the combat after the 10 seconds account of the referee. A combatant is also declared victorious if its wounded adversary cannot continue combat (technical KB or TKO).
English boxing is also called the “ noble art ”. It is downward direct Pugilat.
History
Boxing appears at the 18th century, the matches were then organized by punters who took as model pugilism. It at the time is little regulated and practiced with naked hands.The first great champion of boxing to naked hands was the fencing master James Figg, his pupil Brougthon (1704 - 1789) gained nearly 400 engagements until the day when it killed his adversary accidentally. Traumatisé, it codified the rules of boxing with the assistance of the marquis de Queensberry and made compulsory the wearing of protective gloves. English boxing had still been born but cohabited several years with the rules of boxing with naked hands.
The advent of the rules
The rules of the marquis de Queensberry, written in 1867, stressed the agility rather than on the force. These new rules prohibited the combat with naked hands, the body with body, smothering, the blows when the adversary is impotent and the fight to the finish. The meetings are divided into three minutes rounds, spaced of a rest period one minute. A participant loses the match if it remains on the ground more than ten seconds, lengthened or resting against a knee. These rules also stipulate that the matches must take place in a boxing ring of 7,30 side m. The last champion heavy truck with naked hands was American John L. Sullivan, in 1889.It is in 1900 that Louis Lerda, of return of the the United States, tries to establish English boxing in France. The first combat with place with the Room Wagram with Paris and, the February 15th 1903, the French federation of the Companies of Boxing is created by four young practitioners (Albert Bourdariat, Frantz Reichel, Van Rosose and Paul Rousseau).
English boxing includes/understands various sections that are boxing amateur, professional and educational. English boxing is the only type of boxing recognized by the International Olympic committee. If one meets competitions amateurs and professional, only the amateurs are authorized to fight with the Olympic Games.
The engagements are held by two men (or women) who clash on a boxing ring with power. They have the obligation to wear gloves, a shoe without point nor heel, breeches with semi-thigh, protective shell, a gum-shield. The boxers amateurs must obligatorily carry a crash helmet and a light shirt without manche.
Professional boxing English is not federated by a single body but by many federations, which is not the case of boxing known as amateur . The professionals men must be barechested whereas the amateurs must carry a docker and a helmet.
The International federation of boxes amateur recognized by the CIO is the International association of boxing amateur (IBA) - House of the International Sport - Avenue of Rhodanie 54 - 1007 Lausanne - Switzerland IBA.
The boxes professional is distributed mainly between four concurrent federations: WBA, IBF, WBC, WBO.

Direct or Straight-punch in English: direct punch. It is of form, swabbed, whipped or balance-pier. Nuances: the Jab is direct with small race, whereas the Lead is direct with great race and very heavy. One also finds the Direct court used with the body with body which approaches a horizontal Uppercut.
- Hook or Hook ( Hook-punch ) in English: circular punch (hooked). There exist other forms of circular blows: the Swing (also called stick-punch ) and the Half-swing .
- Uppercut : punch going up (or Rising Punch ). It is classified in the category of the circular blows, which is not always the case.
