Energy independence

The energy independence of a country is its capacity to satisfy its needs for energy by controlling the sources of production, the channels of provisioning and the beneficiation techniques of the various forms of energy.

The rate of energy independence corresponds to the relationship between the primary energy produced by a country and the companies controlled by this country, and the power consumption in the country.

Source of important imports (in particular the Oil), or of planetary risks (Nuclear), energy is an policy issue, strategic and economic important for the governments.
