Enduro

The enduro is a discipline of the Moto cross-country or Quad, which is composed of course to realize in a time assigned, generally on ways open to timed circulation (called connections), and sectors (called special).

Tests

The tests headlights are:

  • the Championship of the World, also called " Championship of the 2 jours" since run under a format of Grand Prix on a WE, with ten GP per annum, in various countries (the " WEC")

  • ISDE (International Six Days off Enduro - “6 Days” for the French)), run in only one week in a given country. They are disputed by nation: i.e. one cumulates the results of the 5 best members out of 6 of the team Trophée and 3 out of 4 for the Junior team.
  • national championships (great nations of the enduro: Italy, France, Spain, Finland, Sweden, Belgium…).
  • the tests known as “Traditional” which accommodate a great number of participants of all levels (Trèfle lozérien, Val of Lorraine, Aveyronnaise Classic, Rand' Auvergne, Endurose, Grappe of Cyrano, Coupe Couples, etc)
  • celebrates it Enduro of Touquet , which is called today Enduropale and which is held in the dunes is not strictly speaking a enduro but rather a mixture of Moto-cross and enduro, approaching the cross-country endurance.
  • in the past the Gilles Lalay Classic: the race known as hardest in the world which was held in France in the the Limousin in Peyrat the Castle. Other countries have their race " more dure" like November Käsan, Hell' S Spoils, Romaniak,…

The motor bike of Enduro

By extension, the enduros are motor bikes intended for the practice of this discipline. They are in the broad outlines close to the motor bike S of cross-country race, but with a homologation (thus authorized to roll on the road if registered and ensured) and of the equipment which enables them to go on the ways open to circulation. The suspensions are in general more flexible than in cross-country race (less large shocks but need of more than adherence), the coupleux and less powerful engine and the differently staged gear box (1st short for crossing, long last for top speed). the suspension has a clearance of almost 300 mm, the frame is generally equipped by a one-cylinder engine two times with 125 to 300 cm ³, or four times from 250 to 650 cm ³. The engine twin-cylinders only were very seldom used, except for the twins BMW in the years 1970 at the beginning of 1980 (only in competition), or the all recent Aprilia RXV. The BMW HP2 and KTM 950 super enduro R are more related with trails than with real motor bikes of enduro.
